My First Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

I finally decided to get another subscription box! I’d been wanting to get a new beauty subscription box for awhile. I love the concept of them. I really like makeup and beauty products but I find shopping for them, both in stores and online, overwhelming. The massive amount of options just makes my eyes glaze over and I end up deciding to skip buying something all together. I love a beauty sub box as there is no choice involved; just new products to try. Unfortunately, there are a lot of beauty subscription box options as well. I’ve tried both Beauty Box 5 and Birchbox, but was never over the moon for either one. However, after watching XO Mia’s unboxing of her latest Vegan Cuts beauty box, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I liked every item in the box!

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 box

I am not a vegan, (or even a vegetarian yet) when it comes to food. But when it comes to beauty products, the idea of purchasing things that have been tested on animals really makes my skin crawl. I get that it’s weird that I have no problem eating some turkey bacon and yet this bothers me, but hey, I never said I wasn’t weird. So what was in April’s box that made me have to have it? Check it out!

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 cocokind face serum

CocoKind Organic Facial Repair Serum

This serum is lovely. It smells great, and does wonders for the dry spots on my skin. It is quite oily being an oil based serum, so it may not be great if you have an oilier skin type, but my dry skin loves it. Plus, a little goes a long way so this will last me quite a bit!

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 eco lips lip balm

Eco Lips Bee Free Lip Balm (Sweet Mint)

I much prefer beeswax-free lip balms. I find them so much more moisturizing. This one is wonderful; silky smooth and the mint isn’t overpowering. I’m not a mint fan (except for toothpaste) and generally find mint lip balms to be way too minty, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really liked this one!

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 enfusia bath bomb

Enfusia Bath Bomb (Coriander Rosewood)

Uhhh, you had me at bath bomb. Love them! I haven’t used this one yet, but it smells fantastic.

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 goddess garden sunscreen

Goddess Garden Organics Sunscreen

This item surprised me a bit as it’s the only item that doesn’t directly say it’s vegan/cruelty free. However, I trust the people at Vegan Cuts to know what they’re doing so I would imagine this isn’t tested on animals. Anywho, the product is great! I definitely fall into the pale girl category, and since I love spending time outdoors, I go through oodles of sunscreen in the summer. I’m happy to have this little tube to pop in my purse for when me and the little miss (also pale!) need it out and about.

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 joshik polish

Joshik 5-Free Nail Polish

I was so excited for this! Nail polish stresses me out with the ridiculously toxic ingredients in it, so I’m happy to have another 5-free options. (I have a few, but they are expensive and since I rarely do my nails, I don’t buy any often.) I also really love this color. It’s a bit washed out in the pic; in reality it’s a much deeper purple. It looks lovely on my toes!

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 marrakesh ends hair serum

Marrakesh Endz Argan & Hemp Oil Therapy

I think this is my favorite item in the box. It smells heavenly. I use it after each shower on my damp ends and love catching a whiff of it throughout the day. I’ve only been using it for a few days since I got the box, but I do notice that when I use it and leave my hair down, my end area is noticeably softer. I may have to buy a full size product of this when the tube runs out!

vegan cuts beauty box review april 2016 routine natural deodorant

Routine Natural Deodorant

This last item is the only thing I don’t like. I love the idea of the natural deodorant, and these samples came in a few scents. Unfortunately, the box I received had the Patchouli scent which I really just can’t stand. However, my BFF loves it, and also uses natural deodorant, so I’m going to send it along to her and it won’t go to waste!

And there you have it! Vegan Cuts beauty box is only $20 a month, plus free shipping which I find extremely reasonable especially for cruelty free and often organic products. They also have a snack box if you’re looking for some vegan noms. I can’t wait to see what May’s box brings!

Have you tried out a beauty subscription box? What did you think?

  • I love seeing/reading unboxings of these!! As I run out of the things I’m currently using I’m TRYING to replace them with cruelty-free/organic options, but it’s so hard 🙁 Seeing these boxes gives me ideas and things to look for 🙂 I’m having the most trouble with deodorant. I’ve tried so many natural ones but so far they’ve all sucked. The hunt continues!

    • Kay

I’m with you – I haven’t found a natural deodorant that I like long term! And yes, buying organic/cruelty free adds up so quickly. It’s such a shame that things that are better for you & the world cost so much more! Ugh! I hope this box continues to be great! 🙂

  • Mia Moore

I didn’t really dig the deodorant either, but everything else in this box was so good! Thanks so much for the shoutout and I’m so happy you tried it out and loved it 🙂 <3

    • Kay

I’ve yet to try out a natural deodorant I like in the long term. And you’re welcome, thanks again for introducing me! 🙂

  • This sounds great! I may have to try to convince my mom to let me invest in this! 🙂 <3 <3 <3 <3

    • Kay

I hope you like it if you try it out! I’ll be sharing about May’s box for sure. 🙂

  • gamerwife

I really miss my Vegan Cuts Beauty boxes. Hopefully once the Canadian dollar picks up again I can renew my subscription. This looks like a particularly great box. Love that nail polish.

    • Kay

Despite not doing my nails often, that was one of my fave products. I hope May’s box brings some equally great goodies!

  • Ari Carr

The packaging is so cute! I love the sound of that lip balm!

    • Kay

I liked that packaging a lot too! And I really recommend the lip balm; it’s luscious!

  • Wow this looks great! I’ve been looking for a natural deodorant, so I’ll add this one to my maybe list. That lip balm sounds really good! I’d definitely try that!

    • Kay

It’s a great one! I’ve tried a couple natural deodorants but never found one that I like for the long term. I’ll have to try this one in a different scent sometime!

  • Oh my gosh this looks amazing. I really wish we had something like this in the UK I would sign up in an instant. I think we have one but it’s quite expensive and is every 3 months.

Vegan Cuts does deliver internationally, but the shipping isn’t free. :/ I don’t know how much shipping adds, but the box it $20 (USD) a month; perhaps it would be affordable!

  • B.

Right now I only get Ipsy which started out a little rough but the last bag was really good!

    • Kay

Nice! I’ve seen a lot of Ipsy reveals and I’ve always been hit or miss so I never took the plunge into that one yet!

  • Danielle Knapp

This sounds like a cool box! I burnt out on beauty products from Ipsy, but I love that this has natural products 🙂

    • Kay

Same here! And burnt out is what happened to me with my other beauty boxes I’ve tried. We’ll see how long I stick with this one!

  • sounds like a fun box. I’m into getting organic and natural beauty products so some of this sounds like it is right up my alley!

    • Kay

I’m hoping the other boxes will be just as great. As far as I know the free shipping is anywhere in the US not just contiguous states, so maybe give it a try!
