March is here! This month always gets me excited for spring time. We’ve had an extremely mild winter this year, so I’m already anticipating the season change, warmer weather, and the sun shining longer in the sky each day. My March goals will have a few repeats from last month (in the hopes of completing them this time around) and many new ones too – it’s going to be a busy month!
#1. Start running again. I signed up for my first virtual race via Geek’d Out Runners (Sherlock Holmes themed! Oh yeah!) and need to get back into the swing of things. I’ve been exercising quite regularly at home, but it’s time to start running again. I’m nervous (not a fan of running in public) but I can do it!
#2. Order business cards! I already know where I’m going to order them from, but I have to finalize the design. UGH. I have zero confidence in my design skills, so I am constantly second guessing myself and am overall indecisive. Not helpful. I need to get a final design together, and get them printed!
#3. Drink. More. Water. As I mentioned in my February wrap-up, I only averaged 10 ounces of water a day last month. I really want to hit 16 ounces each day this month.
#4. Complete 4 finalized pieces of art. Essentially, this boils down to one piece a week. And that does not count my sketches, or Sketch Portraits. I’m talking fully finished pieces. I think this a challenging goal, but it will really help me focus on keeping pace with art and finishing my work before starting more.
#5. Make a budget. One of my huge goals of 2016 is saving money. We’ve been doing quite well so far, but we still don’t have an actual budget plan. Currently, our ‘budget’ consists of spending money on only essential things (like groceries, gas, laundry, etc) and occasionally spending extra on fun stuff. There isn’t much rhyme or reason to it. I know we could be putting more money away if I really make a plan for our finances.
An ambitious month! I’ve gotta say, I really enjoy having goals I’m EXCITED to complete. They are all things I’m genuinely happy to be putting effort into, and I definitely think that is something to think about when making goals. I feel like I used to view goals as a chore list; tasks I set for myself that ‘had’ to be done. Now, I like to fill my goals with things I truly want to be doing, starting small and building up!
