I finally decided to get another subscription box! I’d been wanting to get a new beauty subscription box for awhile. I love the concept of them. I really like makeup and beauty products but I find shopping for them, both in stores and online, overwhelming. The massive amount of options just makes my eyes glaze over and I end up deciding to skip buying something all together. I love a beauty sub box as there is no choice involved; just new products to try. Unfortunately, there are a lot of beauty subscription box options as well. I’ve tried both Beauty Box 5 and Birchbox, but was never over the moon for either one. However, after watching XO Mia’s unboxing of her latest Vegan Cuts beauty box, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I liked every item in the box!
I am currently applying as an affiliate for Vegan Cuts, but at the moment the links in this post are NOT affiliate links. If I become an affiliate, I will update this post with a disclaimer.
I am not a vegan, (or even a vegetarian yet) when it comes to food. But when it comes to beauty products, the idea of purchasing things that have been tested on animals really makes my skin crawl. I get that it’s weird that I have no problem eating some turkey bacon and yet this bothers me, but hey, I never said I wasn’t weird. So what was in April’s box that made me have to have it? Check it out!
CocoKind Organic Facial Repair Serum
This serum is lovely. It smells great, and does wonders for the dry spots on my skin. It is quite oily being an oil based serum, so it may not be great if you have an oilier skin type, but my dry skin loves it. Plus, a little goes a long way so this will last me quite a bit!
Eco Lips Bee Free Lip Balm (Sweet Mint)
I much prefer beeswax-free lip balms. I find them so much more moisturizing. This one is wonderful; silky smooth and the mint isn’t overpowering. I’m not a mint fan (except for toothpaste) and generally find mint lip balms to be way too minty, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really liked this one!
Enfusia Bath Bomb (Coriander Rosewood)
Uhhh, you had me at bath bomb. Love them! I haven’t used this one yet, but it smells fantastic.
Goddess Garden Organics Sunscreen
This item surprised me a bit as it’s the only item that doesn’t directly say it’s vegan/cruelty free. However, I trust the people at Vegan Cuts to know what they’re doing so I would imagine this isn’t tested on animals. Anywho, the product is great! I definitely fall into the pale girl category, and since I love spending time outdoors, I go through oodles of sunscreen in the summer. I’m happy to have this little tube to pop in my purse for when me and the little miss (also pale!) need it out and about.
Joshik 5-Free Nail Polish
I was so excited for this! Nail polish stresses me out with the ridiculously toxic ingredients in it, so I’m happy to have another 5-free options. (I have a few, but they are expensive and since I rarely do my nails, I don’t buy any often.) I also really love this color. It’s a bit washed out in the pic; in reality it’s a much deeper purple. It looks lovely on my toes!
Marrakesh Endz Argan & Hemp Oil Therapy
I think this is my favorite item in the box. It smells heavenly. I use it after each shower on my damp ends and love catching a whiff of it throughout the day. I’ve only been using it for a few days since I got the box, but I do notice that when I use it and leave my hair down, my end area is noticeably softer. I may have to buy a full size product of this when the tube runs out!
Routine Natural Deodorant
This last item is the only thing I don’t like. I love the idea of the natural deodorant, and these samples came in a few scents. Unfortunately, the box I received had the Patchouli scent which I really just can’t stand. However, my BFF loves it, and also uses natural deodorant, so I’m going to send it along to her and it won’t go to waste!
And there you have it! Vegan Cuts beauty box is only $20 a month, plus free shipping which I find extremely reasonable especially for cruelty free and often organic products. They also have a snack box if you’re looking for some vegan noms. I can’t wait to see what May’s box brings!
Have you tried out a beauty subscription box? What did you think?
