I’m starting a new monthly series! Previously, I’d been tacking on some favorites in my monthly wrap-up posts, but I really wasn’t feeling it. However, I loved the idea of jotting down favorite things throughout the month and sharing them. And I really, really, liked the idea of illustrating them. It pushes me out of my comfort zone, and allows me to practice some quick sketching, which I definitely need to do more of. Also, it allows me to do more detailed sketches or drawings if I feel like it! So each month, I’ll be sharing my favorites of the month with some illustrations, and some blurbs. Without further ado, here are my July favorites.
#1. Pokemon GO! It’s so wonderful. While I don’t always play every day (heat, yuck) it is so much fun to go out and hunt Pokemon at night when things cool off.
#2. Fresh snap peas and green beans from my garden. Droooool.
#3. My 50th Annual Family Reunion. Read all about it here. This event is always a highlight of my year, but this year being the 50th, it was so much extra special. Fun fact: The sketch up there is a (really rough) drawing of the design we had printed on shirts to commemorate the event!
#4. Frannerd. I first found her YouTube channel in June, and am absolutely smitten. Fran is such a delight, packs me full of inspiration, and I just can’t get enough of her art, blog, and channel. (She also illustrates her monthly favorites!) 😀 This month, I became a Patron of her work – be sure to check out her Patreon!
#5. Reading on the beach. I’ve taken many trips to the beach this month. I’m not overly attached to the beach, but when I have a lot on my mind like I have this month, it is really wonderful to dig my toes in the sand, feel the cool breeze, and get lost in a book.
