So far, Inktober 2017 is going GREAT! This year I decided to go really simple with supplies and just use ballpoint pen. I’m drawing portraits of tattooed people (because I loved the idea of drawing INKed people for INKtober). I rarely draw men and wanted to get some practice in so I’m making sure at least half of my portraits are of dudes.
I am absolutely loving drawing these portraits! Ballpoint pen is so much fun. It’s simple, but very versatile and allows you to get a lot of different line weights and tones with just one pen. Here are the first eight days of portraits.
Some of these portraits are special – they are of my Patrons! I’m drawing a portrait of each of my lovely Patrons (who granted permission of course) and giving them some rad new tattoos. I knew I wanted to include my Patrons in Inktober somehow, and I’m so glad that they’ve all been pleased with the portraits so far!
I haven’t decided if I’ll post another Inktober update this month, but I’ll definitely be posting an Inktober wrap-up at the end of the month. For now, be sure to follow me on Instagram to see my daily Inktober drawings!
