The Geeky Girl Tag

I haven’t done a tag in so long! The ever awesome Katie from Over the Moony tagged me for this Geeky Girl blog tag, and I can’t really resist chatting about my geek loves.

#1:  What is your must-have tech gadget?
Definitely my smart phone. I use it for so many things. Social media, yes, but also practical things like my calendar, weather, alarm, etc. I also use it often while making art for saving and looking up references. And to snap pictures of my kiddo/cats on the fly!

#2:  Which House do you belong to in Hogwarts?

Ravenclaw, and quite pleased with that! Back in college when Pottermore was first around, I got sorted into Gryffindor which was appropriate for college me. But now, Ravenclaw is definitely fitting.

#3: Who is your favorite Doctor?

#4:  If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be?
I only get to pick one?! LAME. Well. Since I can’t possibly just pick ONE person, I’ll cheat a little and go with The Raven Boys crew. Really, I just want to hang out with them and be buds because they are such an amazing group of friends!

#5:  What is your gaming system of choice?
PS4. But that has less to do with having specific affection for it and more to do with it’s the only system we have right now! Well, we do have a 3DS and my old Wii, but neither of those gets too much consistent use. I’m currently loving Horizon Zero Dawn. Our PS4 gets used all the time too since it’s also where we stream Netflix, Amazon, etc.

#6:  If you had a super power, what would it be?
Mind reading. Hands down. I always love to know what’s going on inside peoples’ heads. That kind of made me sound like a creeper. Well. Too bad. But I would want the kind of mind reading where I can choose to hear peoples’ thoughts or not. The on-all-the-time in a never ending barrage of thought would be awful.

#7:  What is your favorite fantasy world?
UGH, again with having to pick. I think I’d have to go with Middle Earth. I know it has it’s not-so-lovely parts, but it is also filled with so much beauty that I want to hike around and see and experience. LOTHLORIEN, PEOPLE. I would move there in a heartbeat. But also if Hogwarts could exist and I could attend it, that would be great, thanks.

#8:  If you could be any fictional race, what would you be?
Since I’m currently reading the Darker Shade of Magic trilogy, I have to go with Antari. I don’t know if they’re technically another race, but being able to wield all the elements seems pretty sweet. Plus I really dig the whole one solid black eye thing; it speaks to my horror aesthetic.

#9:  Star Trek or Star Wars?
I enjoy Star Wars more, but I have a lot of nostalgia of watching Star Trek series with my dad when I was a child.

#10:  List your top 5 geektastic movies or TV shows.
Captain America: Winter Soldier (honestly, most of the MCU but that’s my fave)| Farscape | Firefly | The Fifth Element | Battlestar Galactica (newest one)

#11:  List your top 5 video games.
The Last of Us | Final Fantasy VII | Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time | Mario Kart (all) | Super Smash Brothers

And there you have it! I’ll tag Ashlee of Her Geekery (only if you want to), and anyone else who would like to take part can feel free!

  • Hey girl heeey! Thanks for the tag, I’ll definitely join in ❤️ Yay for Ravenclaw gals! And I don’t think you’re a creeper for liking to get inside people’s heads. Mind reading would be crazy cool, but I’d for sure go crazy if it was always on.

    • Kay

Same here! It would definitely need an off button. 😀 Excited to read your answers!

  • Love this tag! I’ll probably do it too even if nobody tagged me 😀

    • Kay

      Awesome, I hope you do!

  • Yesss! Fellow Ravenclaw with a preference for Ten! I love it. Also, I laughed when I got to your five movies/TV shows because there was (at least to me) a very sci-fi theme to them. I just thought it was cute/amusing. 🙂

    • Kay

It’s so true! Which is funny, since for a long time, I never considered myself a sci-fi fan, only fantasy. But really, I think that just applies to books. I still have a hard time with hardcore sci-fi novels; for some reason I have a really hard time picturing futuristic stuff in my head and it frustrates me. But put the visuals in my face? I’M IN lol.

And YES for Ravenclaw/Ten pride! *high five*

  • Yay!! I loved reading your answers!! And I definitely agree. I would need an on/off switch for the mind reading as well. I couldn’t deal with all that noise! I’ve never played The Last of Us, but I saw the beginning of it on the React channel when they were making people play it. Man was that heart wrenching!

Yup, I cried haha. I actually cried multiple times in that game! It was just so good, and I was so invested. XD

  • Yay! I love your answers!! I have a PS4 but I don’t play on it that often. It’s more the Xbone. Love the tag!

    • Kay

Nice! We never got the Xbox One since we hardly ever even used our old 360 at that point. Just made sense for us to go Playstation!

  • Emma

This is such a great tag. I love reading these, and learning new things. Plus, I’m with you on a lot of these – especially the movie/tv show picks!

    • Kay

Thanks! And high five for good taste! 😀

  • I used to think that mind reading would be awesome, but I think I would get a headache always knowing what people were thinking lol! So I think if I could have any superpower… it would be the ability to teleport to different places! lol

    • Kay

That would certainly be amazing! And soooo convenient.

  • What a fun tag. And I like that you didn’t choose one or the other between Wars and Trek—there’s a place for both, gosh darnit.
