DIY Funko Shelves From Collector Corps Boxes

Holy crap has it been ages since I’ve written about any Funko! It’s partially because my blogging schedule fell to pieces over the summer, and partially because there hasn’t been much for me to talk about in terms of my Funko. BUT! As I was putting together my new art area (post coming soon) I had brilliant idea (if I do say so myself πŸ˜‰ ) for new Funko shelves since the ones we had were entirely full. Voila! Marvel Collector Corps boxes as DIY Funko shelves!

I’ve saved every single Collector Corps box that we have received (we skipped two different boxes for lack of interest) because the art and design on them is just great. However, I didn’t have a clue what to do with them. They’ve just been sitting stacked in a corner of our bedroom this whole time. But when I made a new art area, I ended up freeing up some wall space and it just hit me – I should hang those suckers and put Funkos on them!!

It worked like a charm. I attached the boxes to the wall with two medium Command Strips on per box. The strips go at the top (back) of the box, on the left and right. If the specs are to be believed, each box should be able to hold up to 12 lbs. Certainly enough for a few Funkos! These were seriously the easiest DIY Funko shelves I’ve made. We built other shelves out of wood, but that involved lots of measuring and assembling and what not. For these, you literally slap on some Command Strips and go.

And though it’s hard to tell, there is actually enough room on these boxes for two layers of Funkos (one in front and one in back). I need to make/find something to be a riser and then I could have a second layer if I wanted to! This has opened up a huge amount of space for our Funko collection, which is good as we were maxed out on space before. Now it’s just the constant dilemma of which ones we keep displayed in the living room, and which ones end up in the bedroom. I rearrange a lot.

I hope you like my super simple DIY Funko Shelves! There’s still plenty of space on the wall to more in as we get more Collector Corps boxes in. Though honestly, this does not have to be done with just Collector Corps boxes. Any kind of lightweight square/rectangular box would work!

Have you ever made any DIY Funko Shelves? If you get Marvel Collector Corps, do you save your boxes?

I love how you used your boxes! They really are awesome to look at and now you gave them a purpose!

    • Kay

Thanks! I’m excited when we have enough CC boxes to actually fill the wall haha.

  • Wow, this looks SO COOL!! And I love the illustration on the boxes, so it’s great that you figured out a way to display them & use them functionally!

    • Kay

Thank you!! I’m glad they aren’t just sitting in a stack any more. πŸ™‚ Eventually I’ll have enough for the whole wall!

  • Omg they look perfect for your Funko collection, you did a great job! Love it.

    • Kay

      Thanks Alice!

  • That’s such a good idea and you get to enjoy your funko’s all the cool artwork on the boxes too!

    • Kay

    • Kay

Thanks Mandy! Eventually I’ll have enough to fill the whole wall, but this works well for now. πŸ™‚

      • Definitely. Plus, you could maybe store things in the boxes? Double duty!

        • Kay

THAT IS BRILLIANT! Never even thought of that! Definitely going to keep that in mind, thanks Mandy!

  • Those are SO cute!! What a great idea! I currently have been using them to store my comics in since I read a TON of comic books, mostly Marvel, and I’ve ended up with corresponding boxes!

    • Kay

That’s a great way to use them! And so appropriately themed haha! πŸ˜€

  • These are so cute!!! What a great idea!

    • Kay

      Thanks Kristin!

    • Kay

Thanks Kimi! I’m definitely liking it better than ‘stacked in a corner’ haha.

  • I love this idea! Really cool!

    • Kay

      Thanks Sara!

  • Danielle Knapp

This is brilliant! Very well done πŸ™‚

    • Kay

      Thank you Danielle!

    • Kay

Thanks Liana! I hope more people do it….the boxes are so damn pretty!

    • Kay

Ah, do it Pepi! And thank you so much!

  • What a great idea -how visually stunning too! Love the Planeswalkers I see up there too.

    • Kay

Thank you! And yessss. While I don’t play MTG myself, I love the art, and the Planeswalker Pops are pretty great! We’ve still got a couplet to get. πŸ™‚

  • These look great! Very cool idea!

    • Kay

      Thanks Lynn!

  • This looks so good! I don’t sub to these, but I have a hard time letting go of great packaging as well hahah.

    • Kay

Thanks! I’m glad I’m not the only one. I always save random boxes and things…I’m getting a bit better since we’ve been making a point to purge stuff this year, but I agree it is hard to throw them away sometimes!

  • Emma

Those shelves are perfection. I’ve seen people do similar with Lootcrate boxes, but they are no where near as nice as the Collector Corps ones – they work so perfectly with the funko pops.

    • Kay

Thanks! I’m glad to finally have a use for the boxes…’stack in a corner’ definitely wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing. πŸ˜€

  • This is such a good idea I love it and it’s a great way to make use of those awesome boxes, I always have a hard time throwing out awesome packaging to xoxo

    • Kay

Thanks! I’m such a sucker for good packaging.

    • Lia Harrison

I have a box from that’s basic brown cardboard on the outside with a fantastic glossy pic of Spidergwen on the inside, and I just cannot let it go.
