Travel Journal Prep!

Holy moly, tomorrow night I will be headed out of the country for the first time on a family vacation to Costa Rica! Since I’ve never been on a trip of this scale, I decided to take a travel journal with me for the sole purpose of drawing and documenting my trip. I always take photos (and I’ll certainly be doing so!) but I really like the idea of journaling each day and each adventure, and capturing those memories while it’s fresh in my mind. Figuring out what supplies to pack for my travel journal has been on my mind for months. As you all probably know, I primarily work...

Spring Vegan Cuts Makeup Box

My year of buying only cruelty-free beauty products is going great! And the arrival of my quarterly Vegan Cuts Makeup Box is such a joyful addition to this goal. This is the third box I have received, and I’m still thrilled which is always a good feeling from a subscription box. Let’s check out what’s in the spring Vegan Cuts Makeup Box! I purchased this box with my own money but as an ambassador for Vegan Cuts the links in this post are affiliate links. Purchasing via these links earns me a small commission. All opinions on about the products are 100% my own.   The first item I pulled...

Bullet Journal Tour!

Yes, I realize that April is a weird time to be sharing my bullet journal since normally it’s a beginning-of-the-year thing. But let’s just roll with it, eh? 2017 is the first time I decided to give bullet journaling a go. Id’ heard a ton about it and seen the gorgeous Instagram bullet journal porn. But the real decision to make one came from the fact that ready made planners are so expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I know that people put a lot of work into the design of the pages and layout. Plus manufacturing costs. But $50-$70 for a planner that, let’s be honest, I will probably crap...

Freelance Life: Thoughts So Far

I’ve been living the freelance life for a few months now. Nowhere near long enough to feel experienced or comfortable with it. In fact, I feel like as time goes on, I realize how little I know about being a freelancer. I mean, I know the basics. How to make art (woo!). How to keep track of my bookkeeping responsibly, for taxes and such. How to work with clients. But. Always a but. The more I continue down this road the more I feel like I am not on the same playing field as most freelancers, both in terms of quality of work and networking. I don’t say this with...

Artist Supply Source Site Review

Last month, a company called Artist Supply¬†Source reached out to me about sending some supplies my way in exchange for a review of their site. I agreed, and they graciously sent me a Pentel Brush Pen, which is something I’ve been dying to try! Today I’m sharing the two pieces I’ve used the brush pen on, along with my review of the Artist Supply Source website. All opinions are 100% my own. Before I dive into the Artist Supply Source site review, I do need to rave about the brush pen. I love it so much! I definitely need more practice, but it is just so versatile in terms of...

April: Small Goals

April has arrived! I think this is going to be my most exciting month of this year. Not only will it kick off my last year in my twenties, but I’m also going on my first trip out of the country! We leave for Costa Rica in t-minus 18 days. CUE MENTAL FREAK OUT. Here’s how I got on with March’s small goals: 1. Start streaming my art on Twitch. Success! I’ve been streaming consistently for about three weeks now and it’s SO much fun! If you want to tune in and watch me make some art, click here and follow my Twitch channel! 2. Revamp my online art portfolio....
