Twitch Makes Me Feel Old

As I’ve mentioned in quite a few previous posts, I started live streaming my art on Twitch! And boy, is it a whole new world. *cue everyone singing Aladdin* I’ve always been a pretty tech-savvy person. I grew up with the internet and cell phones emerging as mainstream, I’ve always had computers and game consoles in the house, and there have been very few technological things that have thrown me for a loop. Even with blogging, there are few things I haven’t been able to solve with the help of a quick Google search. But Twitch. Oh boy, Twitch is it’s own animal. I had absolutely ZERO experience with live...

Currently In March 2017

It’s been five months since I last did one of these posts! Geez! Sticking with my plan to make this place whatever I want, as well as more personal posts and less ‘content’, here is a chatty post about what I’m currently up to this month. Watching: My partner and I just finished up The OA, and while it was super strange I really enjoyed it. It’s certainly not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s also got it’s flaws (what doesn’t?) but overall, I was captivated by it. Reading: A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab. Book 3 in the Darker Shade of Magic series. LOVING IT...

My Happy Mail Project

Is there anyone who doesn’t enjoy receiving snail mail? Be it a package from Amazon, your favorite subscription box, or an Etsy order, getting mail is fun. Period. So I wanted to start a project, which is simply titled Happy Mail. What is it? Quite simple. At least once a month, I will randomly send out art to someone in my address book. It could be fanart, a portrait, or just something I think you’ll like. Sound cool? Then add your name + mailing address to my Postable address book and one day, you may just have a surprise from me in your mailbox! International addresses are fully welcome to...

March: Small Goals

I’ve seen small goals posts kicking around for while now (I think I first saw them on XO Mia? Or maybe Super Space Chick?) and I think they are a great way for me to jump back into monthly goals. Just some little things to bring some form of direction to my month. With fingers crossed that I am finally, FINALLY on the way to being completely healthy again I am beyond ready to get back into my normal life routine. February was a complete wash of a month, so let’s kick it off fresh with some March goals! 1. Start streaming my art on Twitch. This is kind of...

Please, Join My Pity Party

This post is literally just me bitching about being sick. Yup. It’s legitimately all I feel like writing about at the moment, because it’s all I think about lately. I have been sick for a MONTH. 30 ACTUAL DAYS. I’ve had doctor’s appointments, plenty of rest, even antibiotics, and I’m still not healthy. And it freaks me out. I’m a decently healthy person. The last time I made an appointment with my PCP was for a physical, and she didn’t even realize I was a patient. Why? Because I hadn’t seen her in FIVE YEARS since I pretty much don’t get sick. I get colds a couple times a year,...

Turn the Page: The Black Prism Review

Diving back in with book reviews! Today I’m bringing you a spoiler-free review of The Black Prism by Brent Weeks. β€œGavin Guile is the Prism, the most powerful man in the world. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. But Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live: Five years to achieve five impossible goals. But when Guile discovers he has a son, born in a far kingdom after the war that put him in power, he must decide how much he’s willing to pay to protect a secret that could...
